The year 1991 is an important landmark in the post-independent economic history of India. The country faced a severe economic crisis which triggered in part by a serious balance of payments situation. The crisis was convert into an opportunity to affect some fundamental changes in the content and approach to economic policy. Moreover, since 1991 onwards Indian economy has been exposed to economic liberalization and globalization in line with Structural Adjustment Policies (SAP) and stabilization policies initiated by Bretton wood institutions such as International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank. It is clear that there has been a shift in Indian economic policy from state-oriented development strategy to market oriented development leaving the decisions of productions and distribution to the market signals. The Andhra Pradesh has undergone significant socio-economic transformation since its bifurcation in 2014. The state has focused on rebuilding its economy through investments in agriculture, infrastructure, industrial development, digital governance, and social welfare. This paper examines the major trends in Andhra Pradesh's socio-economic growth, identifies key developmental challenges, and explores future prospects for sustainable and inclusive development. The study is based on secondary data collected from government reports, policy documents, budget analyses, and published literature. The findings indicate that while Andhra Pradesh has achieved considerable progress in economic growth, agricultural productivity, fisheries, and infrastructure, persistent issues such as regional disparities, unemployment, fiscal constraints, and climate vulnerability continue to affect long-term development. The paper concludes with policy recommendations aimed at promoting balanced regional growth, employment generation, environmental sustainability, and human capital development.
